Was taught to use the basics of Photoshop:
Color Balance:
We were given an image which had to much green in it, in order to fix this we had to use the color balance feature of Photoshop which we then took out the green of the photo so the colours looked normal

Depth of Field:
In order to create a depth of field effect where a part of the image is made to stand out from the rest of the background I had to use the polygonal lasso tool to select the part I want to stand out, when this is selected I pressed CTRL + SHIFT + I to inverse the selection and then added a gaussian blur to the background so that the selected part stood out from the rest of the image.

Hue/Saturation:
We were given an image where the color levels were off so that it looked plain and old so I used the Hue/Saturation tool to make the image more colourful and so that the colours were brighter and more apparent
